A Few Ways to Stay Cool This Summer

As heat temperatures continue to rise throughout the summer, now is an ideal time to find new ways for staying cool. Of course, jumping into a pool is one way to cool off temporarily, but there are some other excellent ways to beat the heat involving your diet and water intake. Keep your body temp in check during the summer season with the following healthy habits.

Among one of the most important things to this summer do is stay hydrated. By consuming an adequate amount of water (and even more on days you spend outside or exercising), you keep your system fully replenished with essential electrolytes. Considering our bodies are comprised of 60% water and almost all of our body weight comes from water, drinking lots of H2O is vital for maintaining health when it’s super hot outside. Doing so replaces water lost through sweat, and water is necessary for optimal body functioning including cell regeneration, joint lubrication, waste removal, and changes in body temperature.1
